Media Advisory: FAO to release report comparing Ontario’s finances with other provinces

FAO TO RELEASE REPORT COMPARING ONTARIO’S FINANCES WITH OTHER PROVINCES

TORONTO, April 8, 2024 – On Wednesday, April 10, 2024, the Financial Accountability Office of Ontario (FAO) will release a report that provides a comparison of Ontario government revenues, spending, budget balance and net debt with other Canadian provinces based on Statistics Canada’s Government Finance Statistics for the 2022-23 fiscal year.

The report will be posted on the FAO website www.fao-on.org/en/ at 8:30 a.m.

The FAO will provide a background briefing for accredited media at 10:00 a.m. at the Ontario Legislature in Committee Room #2. At the media briefing, senior officials from the FAO will provide a brief presentation and answer technical questions.

Following the presentation, Ontario’s Financial Accountability Officer, Jeffrey Novak, will be available to respond to media questions.
