Media Advisory: FAO to release report on home energy spending in Ontario

FAO TO RELEASE REPORT ON HOME ENERGY SPENDING IN ONTARIO

TORONTO, October 18, 2021 – On Tuesday, October 19, 2021, the Financial Accountability Office of Ontario (FAO), will release a report that examines how home energy spending differs across household income levels and regions in Ontario. It also provides information on electricity subsidies provided by the provincial government and how these subsidies are distributed to Ontario households by income level and region.

The report will be posted on the FAO website www.fao-on.org/en/ at 9:00 a.m.

The FAO will provide a background briefing for accredited media at 10:30 a.m. via Microsoft Teams web conference following the release of the report. Please contact Anna Giannini at 647 527 2385 or AGiannini@fao-on.org for log-in and password information.

At the media briefing, senior officials from the FAO will provide a brief presentation and answer questions on a not-for-attribution basis.

Ontario’s Financial Accountability Officer, Peter Weltman, will be available for “on-the-record” media questions immediately following the background briefing at 10:45 a.m.
